Founder and South Korea Enthusiast
Areum Society was founded by Mariana Coelho, a woman whose journey to South Korea began as a personal celebration. When planning a special trip for her 40th birthday, she knew she wanted to explore Asia, and South Korea stood out as the perfect destination. With its vibrant culture, dynamic energy, and world-renowned food scene, it felt like the ideal place for a well-deserved getaway.
During her time in South Korea, she experienced the country’s advanced beauty culture firsthand. She was especially impressed by the expertise of Korean clinics and the noticeable results of treatments like laser facials and the eyebrow thread lift. Beyond the treatments themselves, the experience reinforced the importance of investing in self-care, not just as a luxury, but as a way to feel confident and refreshed.
But South Korea offered her more than just beauty. She fell in love with the warmth of its people, the deep respect for the elders, the quiet courtesy found in everyday life, and even the spotless, well-maintained subway system. And, of course, the food. Every meal was an experience in itself.
Inspired by this transformative journey, Mariana created Areum Society, to share the beauty, culture, and sense of sisterhood that comes from traveling with like-minded women.
